International Experience Sharing
To strengthen international experience sharing in climate change adaptation, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality hosted the project partners within the scope of the LAP BLACK Project. Supported by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, the Study Visit took place in Sakarya between September 16 and 18, 2026.
The event was attended by representatives from Istanbul Technical University, Kobuleti Municipality, Kavala Municipality, and the Association of Business Support Centers (Ukraine).
Evaluating Local Climate Actions
During the activities, the implementation processes of local climate adaptation efforts carried out at the local level were discussed. Through presentations, practices from different regions, gained experiences, and encountered challenges were shared. While evaluating solutions for common problems, the partners exchanged views on how to further develop the ongoing activities within the project.
Sustainable Climate Park Visit
As part of the study visit, participants also toured the near-complete Sustainable Climate Park. Project partners were informed about the planned applications in climate adaptation, sustainability, renewable energy, recycling, and environmental awareness at the park. By examining these applications on-site, participants had the opportunity to closely observe Sakarya’s local efforts regarding climate change. They also evaluated methods and experiences that could be applied in different regions.
The study visit conducted under LAP BLACK contributed to increasing knowledge and experience sharing among partners, strengthening local climate change adaptation capacity, and transferring successful practices to different regions in the Black Sea Basin.
