05 Oct 2026

LAP BLACK partners met in Sakarya on 16–18 September 2026. The film of the meetings, the experience-sharing sessions and the tour of the Sustainable Climate Park in Güneşler is now available to watch.

Hosted by Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, the study visit took place on 16–18 September 2026. It brought partners from across the Black Sea Basin together to share local climate adaptation work, compare practices from different regions and discuss how the activities already under way in the project can be developed further.

Representatives of Istanbul Technical University, Kobuleti Municipality, Kavala Municipality and the Ukrainian Association of Business Support Centers took part. The meetings looked at how local adaptation measures are being put into practice. Through presentations, partners exchanged experience gained in different regions, the difficulties they have met and possible responses to shared challenges.

During the field programme, partners toured the near-complete Sustainable Climate Park in Güneşler, Adapazarı. On site, they looked at applications for climate adaptation, sustainability, renewable energy, recycling and environmental awareness. The film shows play areas, walking paths, planting, a solar charging station, an atmospheric water unit and an air-quality monitoring point. Footage of the Acarlar floodplain forest is also included.

The visit strengthened the exchange of knowledge and experience among the partners. The measures seen in Sakarya were discussed as examples that could be transferred to other parts of the Black Sea Basin.

This activity was carried out under BSB00353 LAP BLACK, supported by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.
