The LAP BLACK project (BSB00353), carried out under the European Union Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, continues the Environment and Cleanup Festival on 23 October 2026 along the shore of Lake Sapanca.
Students will clean the shore and build awareness of why coastal and terrestrial ecosystems need protection. An information and question-and-answer session led by Oğuz Ergen of the Social Climate Association will cover global climate change, climate processes, waste management and environmental awareness.
Afterwards, students will use their imagination to turn waste collected from the shore into works of art. Pieces made with bottle caps and plastic bottles will show, in practice, why recycling and waste management matter.
The aim is to strengthen the habit of protecting nature, give waste a second use and act together for a sustainable future.
