The meeting was opened by the Project Coordinator, who introduced the participants to the project’s progress from the preparation stage of the grant application up to the present day, highlighting the achieved results and planned activities.
During the event, a presentation of the Local Adaptation Plan for Kobuleti Municipality was delivered. Discussions focused on the existing challenges, risks, and future measures related to climate change adaptation within the municipality.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the Gelauri Green Park Project, during which representatives of the Infrastructure Service introduced the project concept to the participants. A working discussion was held together with representatives of the Infrastructure Service and the tender-winning company — Builder 2017 LLC, responsible for implementing the park development works. Participants discussed various aspects of the park project in detail. Members of the LAP Group also presented recommendations regarding the planning of green areas and the adaptation of the environment for persons with disabilities.
The meeting continued in a discussion format, where participants exchanged views on the impact of climate change on Kobuleti Municipality, adaptation opportunities, and the importance of local interventions.
The meetings of the Local Adaptation Group are an important component of the LAP BLACK project and aim to strengthen local capacities and promote sustainable development in response to climate change-related challenges.
